Dark Demerara is made from pure sugarcane juice, extracted by pressing the cane stalks and left in the sun to crystallize naturally. It is distinguished from other types of sugar by its production process, color, taste and texture.

This process preserves the taste and natural aroma of molasses as well as all the vitamins and minerals contained in the sugar cane. Demerara sugar is a type of sugar with a rich nutritional value, having a high mineral content.
