Coffee machine degreasing — keep flavour fresh and machinery healthy
Coffee oils build up inside the brew group and cause bitterness, pressure loss and faults. Here you’ll find tablets and professional powder used in home machines, office machines and HoReCa espresso systems.
Types of degreasing
- Cleaning tablets — for automatic machines (Gaggia, Philips, Delonghi, Saeco, Jura);
- Professional powder — for barista espresso machines using a blind basket.
How to use tablets?
- If your machine has a cleaning program — insert tablet and run cycle;
- If not — drop the tablet in the ground coffee chute, select a long coffee and let the cycle flush the system (a service-technician trick).
How to use powder?
- Place powder in a portafilter with a blind basket and perform backflushing;
- Ideal for cafés, bars and commercial espresso equipment.
How often should I degrease?
- home: monthly;
- offices: every 2 weeks;
- HoReCa: daily at end of service.
